Although she was sad she couldn’t see the show, Bernadette was excited to receive rave reviews for her choreography for Don’t Break the Rules from Catch Me If You Can and Gaston from Beauty and the Beast in the Musical Theater Centers broadway review Spotlight on Broadway 2012.
Not only was Bernadette asked to return to choreograph a number for Musical Theater Center’s Spotlight On Broadway show for their high-school ensemble Singular Sensations, she was also asked to choreograph for their middle-school ensemble Upbeat Unlimited!
Getting a head start, she began to teach Upbeat Unlimited a high energy routine to Gaston from the musical Beauty and the Beast.
Always amazed by Singular Sensations talent, she taught the entire number Don’t Break the Rules from the musical Catch Me It You Can in only 2.5 hours. This jazzy stylistic number includes lots of formation changes and tricks.
Bernadette is overjoyed to be cast in Torrance Theatre Company’s production of CHICAGO as Anne(Cell Block Tango)/Dancer/Ensemble. Rehearsals start this week!
Bernadette was featured as a bum in a new hysterically funny web-series called K2 about two people trying to be super heros… and failing. Wouldn’t you want to be friends with her?
At the end of February, Bernadette choreographed the number “Here I am” from the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels for the Musical Theater Center’s annual broadway review show Spotlight On Broadway. MTC’s teen performing ensemble Singular Sensations are rightly named because they truly are sensational! The kids learned the number in 2.5 hrs and could have performed it that evening if asked. There is a rehearsal video of the number, but not wanting to spoil it for those who attend the show the video will be posted after the show closes at the end of March. Details for the show can be found at www.musicaltheatercenter.org
